The Devil Rays probably won't be much to watch in the first few months. After a brutal start to the season, expect Piniella to bench the old-timers and let the young guys endure more growing pains. There's just too much raw talent amongst these kids for a few of them not to succeed. Between Upton, Cantu, Crawford, Kazmir and Brazelton, those who love seeing baseball's next big stars will have an interest in what's happening in Tampa. Once again, a lack of proven pitching depth will keep the Devil Rays from getting off the ground. If management plays its cards right, this year could be a prelude for an exciting 2006.
Too bad Vince and Chuck don't see it this way. They are more concerened about saving players from MLB experience to prevent the free agency clock from ticking.
