And he would get no argument. He'll certainly get no argument on that lack of commitment from anyone in baseball or in the environs of Tampa-St. Pete where, on talk radio, Florida, FSU and Miami spring football and even the shut-down hockey team draw more phone calls than do Piniella's Devil Rays. D-Rays owner Vince Naimoli has all but killed baseball in Tampa with his penurious and petulant ways. Their $29 million payroll will once again assure Naimoli of making a profit, so what does he care if his team is the joke of baseball?
