Madden of NY Daily News on Rays

NY Daily News

"Look, no matter what you want to say about George, he's committed to winning," said Piniella, leaving unsaid that there is no such commitment from Devil Rays ownership.

And he would get no argument. He'll certainly get no argument on that lack of commitment from anyone in baseball or in the environs of Tampa-St. Pete where, on talk radio, Florida, FSU and Miami spring football and even the shut-down hockey team draw more phone calls than do Piniella's Devil Rays.
