MATCHUP
Devil Rays face Red Sox at 6:15 at the Trop
St. Petersburg product Doug Waechter (pronounced WECK-ter) takes the mound tonite in his first start as part of the 2005 Devil Rays pitching rotation. Doug played both baseball and football at Northeast High and eventually had to decide between playing QB for the University of South Florida Bulls or starting a career as a third round draft pick for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He is matched up against Curt Schilling. No matter what Schilling's final counting stats end up looking when he calls it quits, in my eyes he earned Hall of Fame credentials in the 2004 world series gutty performamnce pitching with a bummed ankle. Guys like Schilling who throw the heat can play a while so it will be a similar situation to Clemens on how long he decides to keep on playing. In his last start, his wife on the same day ran in the Boston marathon.

Tale of The Tape

Last I checked, the Devil Rays were on a two game winning streak, so lets make it three. Its not to often that Aubrey Huff does not start a game. So welcome back Aubrey!
