To that end, it remains entirely possible that the Mets will seek to upgrade their bullpen by acquiring a late-inning reliever, such as the Tigers' Ugueth Urbina or the Devil Rays' Danys Baez. Such an acquisition might eventually put Looper's status as the closer in doubt.
