So on Friday Lou announces on the radio pregame show that Brazelton will get a chance as the setup man for Baez. Tonight, in his first appearance in that role, I hear this over the radio from the press box speaker:
"Danys Baez, number 28, warming in the Tampa Bay bullpen"
That was before Brazelton threw a pitch. I know nobody else has had much luck in that role (Orvella hasn't had the chance yet!) but if you have to warm up your closer before your setup man throws a pitch then you're wasting your time giving him a chance. If you think he can do it, show some confidence. If you don't feel like you can take the risk of letting him pitch without a safety net, don't even bother.
