A few years ago Rocco was the talk of the franchise as he started his rookie year off hitting above .300. That was a special season for the young Rocco, but the year Gomes is having beats Rocco's year by a landslide. The question I have for you is why do we not hear Gomes mentioned in the press on the national scene the way everybody knew of Rocco in 2003. Is it the fact that Rocco Baldelli is a cool name ? I like the nick name I saw in the diaries of Going Going Gomes! I mean it not just the numbers. Its the hustle, the way he has acted as a veteran player in his very first season. The funny thing is you do not hear Lou talk much about Gomes stellar play. I do not get that.
