-The Phoenix pitching staff spotted the Rafters one run early, and that was all they would need as the D-Dogs' bats fell silent yet again and Grand Canyon coasted to a 5-0 win. It was the second time Phoenix has been shut out this season through five games. The D-Dogs managed but two hits on the afternoon, none of them by Ben Zobrist, the only Rays position player starting. Phoenix starter Jordan Tata went three innings and took the loss, though Grand Canyon really broke it open late with four runs in the sixth and eighth innings. The only Rays prospect that took the hill, Jeff Ridgway, pitched a scoreless frame. Phoenix is off today, they will resume play on Monday against Peo Saguaros.
