-Blue Jays prospect Dustin McGowan was roughed up early and the Saguaros jumped out to a 7-0 lead early as Peoria jumped out to a 7-0 lead early en route to a 9-0 win. Phoenix was shut out for the third time in six games as the lineup mustered just six hits, none of which by the only Ray starting, Ben Zobrist. Jeff Ridgway pitched a scoreless inning in relief for Phoenix. McGowan, however, was beaten down in giving up six runs on five walks and four hits over 2.1 innings in the loss. Brett Garnder and Brenden Ryan each had three hits at the top of the Peoria order, among four players with multiple hits, and the the multiple hit players accounted for 10 of the Saguaros' 13 total hits. The inconsistent D-Dogs look to even up their record at 4-4 today against the other Peoria team, the Javelinas.
