The Rays have began showing a little interest into ex-Brave second baseman Marcus Giles. Marcus who was at once one of the more beloved Braves has fallen off the map the last two seasons.
Amazingly his stats for those two years (and career really) are almost a mirror to the vastly overrated Brian Roberts. The two almost traded places a week ago, in fact if not for Peter Angelos the O's also would've landed Adam Laroche.
If Giles were to land here you have to wonder if that means the end for Jorge Cantu, or just the end at second base for Cantu. Let's hope for one that Giles wouldn't continue the dreadful run that former Braves have had on the Rays.
Other than Fred McGriff underperformers like Nick Green and Vinny Castilla have made John Schuerholtz look like a genius for shipping them out early as well as making (of course) Chuck Lamar look foolish.
The Mets and Padres are amongst the other teams interested and DRB will keep you updated.
