HILL, N.C. -- Tampa Bay Devil Rays prospect B.J. Upton was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, media outlets in North Carolina reported Friday.
Upton, 21, who is playing with the Triple-A Durham Bulls, was pulled over at about 3:30 a.m. According to a police report, Upton was stopped for driving 51 miles per hour on a 30 mph zone. He was given a Breathalyzer test and registered a 0.11 -- above the 0.08 limit at which a driver is presumed impaired under state law.
