Prospect List: #12

Christopher Mason proved he was worth a second round pick last season, and for that you folks have awarded him the 11th spot in your prospect rankings.

Running List

  1. Evan Longoria
  2. David Price
  3. Jake McGee
  4. Wade Davis
  5. Jeff Niemann
  6. Reid Brignac
  7. Jeremy Hellickson
  8. Desmond Jennings
  9. Mitch Talbot
  10. Ryan Royster
Here's an old scouting report about Mason and his draft status:

Allan Simpson: Both Torra and Mason have improved considerably, especially Torra. He was a fifth- or six-rounder at the start of the year, but improved to a point that most teams thought they could get him in the second round a month ago. Now he may not get past the middle of the first. He's been on fire. He's not overly athletic at 6-3, 225, but has good stuff and he can throw strikes all day long. He's so polished he could be in Double-A by the end of the year. You can say much the same for Mason, who's athletic, had an excellent season but probably won't go higher than the second round because of his size. He's barely 6-feet.
