Talented as a writer and a baseball player, Fernando Perez is a pretty special guy and this off-season should be added to the 40 man roster, he's also the 12th ranked prospect, here's an interesting piece from a Columbia University article on him:

Perez, 23, attributes his experiences at Columbia as helping him focus on his goal of becoming a professional baseball player. "Columbia helped me love baseball," Perez noted. "Baseball is a very hands-on game. At a place where the demands are tough because of academics and long winters, Columbia taught me how to love training.
"As a baseball player, you have to put in extra work and make playing an obsession in order to succeed. I learned how to love that kind of training at Columbia."
