Bringing Them In

When you think about hitters who are timely in situations where they have runners on, who do you think of?

I'm sure the obvious Albert Pujols, Travis Hafner, and David Ortiz types pop into most heads, but what about Jorge Cantu?

Using Baseball Musing's RBI percentage chart, and I'll let you look over the numbers yourselves I found a few interesting points.

  • Cantu is within the top 20 amongst 'cleaner uppers'.
  • Rocco is in the top 40.
  • Former Rays Felix Martinez and Ryan Freel are amongst the worst position players around in knocking runners in.
  • Gary Matthews Jr., the '50 Million Dollar Man' ranks behind our own Dioner Navarro.
Any other thoughts on these numbers?
