Price Check will be an occasional look into the performance of projected number one pick, David Price.
It's baseball season again folks, the Vanderbilt Commodores took the field against the number one team in the nation, the Rice Owls, in a matchup that featured Vandy's left handed pitching stud David Price, whom very well could be the pick when the Rays select first in June's draft.
Price's line for the day:
5.2 IP, 6 H, 3 BB, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 SO, 1 HBP, 1 2B, and will not figure into the decision as the Commodores stormed back in the 6th after Price's removal to take what is now a four run lead entering the 9th.
Looking at his numbers, especially the walks and hits you must take into account it's his first start of the year, and it's against the best team in college baseball, all that withstanding it's not as if he got blown up, and did fairly well.
