Game Wrap 3/25/07

Rays 12
Pirates 4

W: Seo
L: Gorzelanny

The first inning was lead off with an Upton walk, a sac bunt by Zobrist, a steal of third, and a RBI single by Delmon. That set the day for an offensive explosion and a Jae Seo domination, seven innings, five hits, two earned runs, two walks, and five strikeouts lead Seo to a 1.69 ERA for the spring. McClung gave up two runs in one inning of work, and Brian Stokes shut the game down with a 1-2-3 ninth, perhaps he is the front runner for the closer's job?

Jonny Gomes went 2-3 with three runs scored, including a two run homerun that put the Rays up by three, Jae Seo then added a two RBI single, Zobrist, Cantu, Delmon again, and Carlos Pena would all add runs on and the Rays would steamroll the Pirates, finishing this week undefeated.

Looking at those standings of the games that really matter, the Rays are in the same neighborhood as the Chicago White Sox, New York Mets, and Philadelphia Phillies, but hey, not like that means anything.
