Statisitics from the 2006 Season

STARTING LINEUPS: TBA

-Abbreviated game preview today, as I kind of wanted to get at least part of the format working for the regular thing, which will debut tomorrow. That stats table above is what I plan to use for the coming season, however I am open to the suggestion of alternative statistics to use, if requested. Please note that W-L record will not be among those stats, as it is almost entirely useless for evaluating pitcher performance. Expanded text on the pitching matchup can be anticipated tomorrow, as well as the Starting Lineups. As it is, I am leaving early today for the Lightning playoff game, and I am unable to really go into further detail on the pitching matchup or post the lineups. Hopefully the Rays can take this game today and get the series started off right in an excellent pitching matchup, and let's hope for both of the Bay Area teams to come out ahead!

Rest in Peace

But before I conclude tonight's game thread I would like to make note of the horrible tragedy that occurred in Blacksburg, Virginia early today, where a gunman opened fire and killed 32 people on the campus of Virginia Tech University. The massacre was easily deadliest mass shooting in U.S. History, not to mention the biggest campus shooting. Some tragedies transcend sports, and this evening we take a moment to recognize one of them. May the victims of this thoughtless loss of life rest in peace.
