Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Lose, and Sometimes....It Rains

The Rays' scheduled tilt with the Bronx Bombers on Wednesday afternoon was postponed due to rain. With nonstop rain covering the New York metro area and the Yankee Stadium turf more than likely unable to field a baseball game today, the teams decided to call off today's matchup long before it was scheduled to start.

As a result of the delay, the Rays will move everyone in their rotation back one day. That means Jae Seo will start tomorrow night's game in New York, while Jamie Shields will start the home opener on Friday night. Casey Fossum is now scheduled to go on Saturday, Scott Kazmir will head to the mound to make his second start on Sunday, and Edwin Jackson will make his first start of the season on Monday.

No makeup date for the delayed New York game was announced, however the teams will not play a doubleheader tomorrow afternoon. The chances are highly likely that the Rays will play a doubleheader with the Yankees in their next appearance in New York, however that isn't until late July. Rain is not forecast to impact tomorrow night's game.
