JUST TALK: LF Carl Crawford seemed mystified Thursday that local fans might have taken offense to comments he made to Fox Sports at the All-Star Game.
Crawford said in that interview that life as a Devil Ray can be "frustrating" and also noted that he had one guaranteed year left on his contract, plus two option years. That last bit was interpreted by some as an indication that Crawford is counting the days until he can get out of Tampa Bay, but he said that wasn't the case.
"What can I do?" he said. "If I answer, I'm wrong. If I don't ... it's like, I'm in a situation where either way it goes, people are going to speculate something, so I just tried to laugh at it and answer it the best I can."
Two days later, the paranoia should end.
