Relief on the Way!

According to Lancaster:

Cantu to Durham, Mohr DFA'd, Ryu up, Dohmann up and takes Mohr's 40 man slot.

Meanwhile Cantu is pissed, again:

"I have no business here and it’s that simple," he said. "I think at least I earned a right to be let go and help somebody else." Does he think he’s played his last game as a Devil Ray? "I think so," he said. "Obviously, the team is going in a different direction. Sometimes you don’t fit into their plans, and that’s the way it goes. I’m sure there’s someone out there who really will appreciate what I’ve done here in this league."

And it appears Jason Hammel will start the first game of the day-night doubleheader, then Ryu will be optioned to Durham and Howell up, meaning the Rays will travel with 26 players on Saturday.

Update [2007-7-19 16:36:50 by R.J. Anderson]: Also, because I check the Dohmann fan site maybe once a month, until now, I just realized the editor had a question about that piece that ran earlier this week. To clear things up I wasn't making fun of Dohmann, but rather hoping we'd give him a shot, especially after all the criticism, deserved or otherwise, he got this past off-season.
