Tampa Tribune:
NEW ADDITION?: Former Indians RHP Fernando Cabrera can be signed by anyone when he clears release waivers today, and the Rays expect to get a deal done. The Orioles reportedly are also interested in the reliever.
The hard-throwing 25-year-old, who struck out 39 in 33 2/3 innings for the Indians this year, isn't eligible for arbitration until after the 2008 season. Brian Stokes would seem the most likely candidate to be bumped from the bullpen if Cabrera does sign.
Only way F-Cab goes to Baltimore is if he really wants to work with Leo Mazzone.
