Time?

Reyes just allowed a three run bomb and it reminded me of a point I wanted to make; is it time for the Rays to shut the 36 year old down for the season?

With rosters expanding, namely Jay Witasick, the pen wouldn't take a shot, and it would allow a youngster like Juan Salas to get a taste of meaningful duty. Reyes has looked tired lately and breached the 50 innings plateau for only the fourth time in his 12 year career.

Not sure the overall effect it would have on the pen, but perhaps for next year's sake it's time to give Al some rest.

Oh and Shields broke 200 innings tonight and his ERA is slightly above 4. Awesome night.
