CC Suspended for Two Games

Major League Baseball today suspended Carl Crawford for two games and fined $1,000 for his actions after being ejected from Monday's game against the Orioles. Crawford will appeal the suspension, and the Rays don't object to that.

"I think it's a little bit excessive," said Rays manager Joe Maddon. "If you take the entire play into consideration and what motivated the action, I think it's a little bit excessive."

Really the MLB should have some mercy, not just because it was an awful call, but because Jonny Gomes in left field for two straight games is cruel and unusual punishment.
