Per the St. Pete Times all signs indicate that Joe Maddon will have his option (two years) picked up by the club and it will be announced later today. Since August 1st the team has a record above .500 and no surprise Maddon has looked like a competent major league manager when given the tools, meaning he effects the outcome as little as possible and even did away with things like back-to-back off days for Carl Crawford and shifting B.J. Upton all around the place.
Congratulations to Joe, he's a class act and hopefully he finds success with us after being a goat for a lot of people.
