New York Daily News' columnist Bill Madden and I have went back and forth a few times in the past over the Rays, that's why this is so shocking:
As of now, only a few GMs would be awarded grades higher than a B for their off-seasons. We would award top honors to the Tigers' Dave Dombrowski and (no, this is not a misprint) the Tampa Bay Rays' Andrew Friedman.
Quite encouraging that someone who has been so difficult on the Rays is giving Friedman an equal grade to Dombrowski who acquired one of the best hitters in the league. I guess the sunshine is in full force, right Bill?
