When I posted that pitcher's reference thing on Wednesday I really didn't have much commentary to add. That's still true, however I decided to throw every pitch a starter throws (above 75 MPH, sorry Sonnanstine's curve) onto the two charts to see which were the "best" so to speak. I'm sure everyone all ready has a pretty good idea of the best pitches from the rotation, but here's visual representation of the average pitches:
The key:
Blue - Shields
Yellow - Kazmir
Red - Garza
Pink - Sonnanstine
Green - Jackson
Again remember negative h-break is IN to righties and negative v-break is DOWN.
My rankings of the top three pitches:
Shields' change-up
Garza's fastball
Kazmir's fastball
