B.J. Upton Takes Batting Practice

New, comments

Marc Lancaster:

Also, B.J. Upton stood in against some live pitching on the minor-league side this morning, more to get used to tracking full-speed pitches than anything else. He said he only took a few swings and didn’t get a ball out of the infield.

Tampa Tribune

Upton likely will not take part in a spring game until the final two weeks.

Also, the Rays will have three televised games this week:

Tomorrow night at Pittsburgh, Thursday night against St. Louis, and Saturday against the Yankees. The Pirates game is the Rays second night game of the spring, while the latter two will take place at 1:05. Each of the games can be seen on the MLB Network with the Cardinals game also being aired on Fox Sports Net Florida.
