Minor League Highlights: Short-Season 6/30

Hudson Valley Renegades, L 3-8

Wilmer Almonte pitched 5 innings allowing 5 ER's on 7 hits walking 2 and striking out 2. Derek Dietrich was 1-4 with an RBI (4). Steven Tinoco was also 1-4 with an RBI (6). Nick Schwaner drew a walk while ending the day 1-3. Burt Reynolds garnered his 5th double, while walking and striking out once, he was 1-3. Kyle Holloway had the other double (his 1st) going 2-4. Chris Winder was 1-4.

Princeton Rays, W 11-2

Victor Mateo recorded the Win, he threw 3.2 innings, giving up 0 ER's on 3 hits while walking 1 and striking out 2. Kevin Kiermaier was 1-5 with 2 K's on the night. Todd Glaesmann was 1-4 striking out 3 times while walking once. Bryan Fogle had a solid game, he was 3-5 with his 1st 2 doubles on the season. Leonardo Reginatto went 3-4 with 2 RBI's (4). Jeff Malm continues his struggles on the young season, he was 0-4 with a SO and a BB.

GCL Rays, L 0-5

Marcus Jensen recorded the L, he went 5 innings surrendering 3 hits 1 ER 1 BB and striking out 1. Joel Caminero went 2-4 with a 2B (2) and a K. Cody Rogers drew a BB going 1-3. Luke Bailey was 0-3 with a walk and a K. Juniel Querecuto rounded out the "offense" ending the night 1-3 with his 1st double.

NOTE: Rays 2010 15th round draft pick, Brandon Henderson (HS LHP), will reportedly be joining the GCL Rays on the 1st of July.
