3/5/11 GDT: Minnesota Twins @ Tampa Bay Rays

We didn't get a chance to recap yesterday's game, but the Rays lost again, falling to the Twins 5-4. The Rays were pretty sluggish on offense, with only two extra base hits on the day courtesy of Manny Ramirez and Justin Ruggiano, and their pitching was not at its best. Mike Ekstrom, Dane De La Rosa, and Alex Cobb each allowed multiple hits during their inning of work, and were responsible for all of the Twins' runs. On a positive note, Alex Torres, Rob Delaney, and Matt Bush all threw well and held the Twins scoreless during their stints. Torres had the best outing of the group, working a solid 2 innings while striking out two and only allowing two baserunners.

But anyway....rematch time!

Also according to Topkin, both Ben Zobrist and Reid Brignac are sitting out due to minor injuries. Zobrist experienced some tenderness in his right ankle yesterday, and Brignac had some groin tightness this morning. Zobrist isn't expected back until Tuesday, and Brignac could be out for around a week. Both injuries are said to be minor, however.
