Busy February with Rays: Dinner with David, Sports Camp with Sam, & Fan Fest 2012

The Rays have partnered with Sam Fuld for a Diabetes Sports Camp, with David Price and Project One Four to host the 16th annual Ted Williams Hall of Fame Induction dinner and ceremony at Tropicana Field, and of course, the 2012 Rays Fan Fest which will raise money for Rays Community partners, the ALS Association, Suncoast Law Enforcement Charities, and the Rays Baseball Foundation.

WHEN: FEBRUARY 3 and 4, 2012: SAM FULD DIABETES SPORTS CAMP

The Rays, University of South Florida Diabetes Centers, USF Athletics, and Sam Fuld partner together on the Sam Fuld Diabetes Sports Camp. The camp will include instruction including baseball/softball, basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and cheerleading. The camp is open to all type 1 diabetes patients ages 8 to 18. The camp will be held at USF Athletic District located at 11899 Bull Run Dr. in Tampa.

Project One Four is a charitable foundation founded by Major League Pitcher David Price, supports programs and organizations that provide opportunities for youth to learn life skills in a safe and supportive environment. The organization strives to make a difference in the lives of youth and their families.

The Ted Williams Hall of Fame has teamed up with David Price and Project14 to bring the 16th annual Induction dinner and ceremony at Tropicana Field.

The Class of 2012 will include Cecil Fielder and Tino Martinez. The Pitching Wall of Achievement will honor the late Mike Flannagan, Rays Rookie of the Year Jeremy Hellickson, and Manager of the Year Joe Maddon will be honored during the ceremony.

Your donation of $99 includes an autographed commemorative ticket signed by David Price. The evening kicks off with a reception and autograph session with past and present major league players including Oscar Gamble, Ron Bloomberg, Bernie Carbo, Alex Cobb, Doug Waechter, Ron LeFlore, Brandon Gomes, legendary trainer Angelo Dundee, and more. There will be a silent auction, dinner on the field, and a closing message delivered by David Price.

WHEN: FEBRUARY 18, 2012: RAYS FAN FEST

The 2012 Tampa Bay Rays Fan Fest presented by MetroPCS is scheduled for Saturday, February 18 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Tropicana Field. The event is also sponsored by Chevrolet, Sweetbay Supermarket and Tradewinds Island Resorts. Admission and parking are free.

This year’s Fan Fest will feature an unprecedented number of activities for kids. Youth stations include clinics by Rays coaches, "Reading with the Rays," kids running the bases, high five stations with Rays players, photos with Rays mascot Raymond and DJ Kitty, baseball interactive activities for all ages and appearances by Rays players and coaches at various stations throughout the day.

A donation to the ALS Association will allow fans to receive a wristband which grants the opportunity to get autographs from Rays players and coaches. Rays TV and radio broadcasters and more than 25 former major league players will also sign autographs for free throughout the day.
