AAA Durham Bulls lost 2-0 (6-17)

More of the same story in Durham - another loss, no hitting, and pitchers unable to throw strikes. Chris Archer went six innings in this game allowing just two hits and two earned runs but walked five while striking out five. He threw 94 pitches, but only 48 of them were for strikes. The team was 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position and were held to just five singles and a Will Rhymes double on the eventing with both Reid Brignac and Leslie Anderson wore hat tricks.

AA Montgomery Biscuits lost 8-7 (10-14)

Kyle Lobstein put the Biscuits behind the 8-ball allowing nine hits and seven runs in just two innings of work. The bullpen went on to allow just three hits and one run over the final seven innings, but the offensive rally fell short in the loss. Hak-Ju Lee and Henry Wrigley both enjoyed multi-hit games as Lee both doubled and stole his fourth base while Wrigley doubled and hit his sixth home run of the season.

High-A Charlotte Stone Crabs lost 2-1 (11-11)

A strong pitching effort by Grayson Garvin was spoiled by an 8th inning home run allowed by the bullpen and the Crabs took a tough 2-1 loss. Garvin scattered two hits and struck out three while walking one in six innings. Hector Guevara and Mikie Mahtook both had mult-hit games but with just one extra base hit and the team going 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position, runs were tough to come by.

Low-A Bowling Green Hot Rods won 6-0 (14-9)

On nights when the other affiliates are struggling, Bowling Green can usually be counted on to provide good news and yesterday was no disappointment as Trevor Shull, and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Jake Hager was the star for the Hot Rods as he went 2 for 4 and drove in two runs.

Star of the day- Tie Hak-Ju Lee. 2 for 5, who scored a run, drove in two, doubled, and stole his 4th base of the season and Henry Wrigley who did the same but replaced the steal with a home run.

Goat of the day- Tie between Lobstein’s shelling and Brignac’s hat trick in Triple-A.
