Happy Friday to all and cheers to the weekend!
As Danny noticed yesterday on Twitter, it appears that Josh Sale has entered into a rehab program, as seen on his Instagram account:

RJ Anderson of The Process Report takes a look at possible alternatives for David DeJesus in the Rays lineup. Some of you all mentioned in the comments in yesterday’s tank that you’d like to see Aoki here, and he’s on the list!
While scrolling through tweets yesterday, I noticed that the Rays, along with other teams around MLB, sent this out:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>We join MLB in going purple for <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23SpiritDay&src=hash">#SpiritDay</a> 10/17! Support LGBT youth and stand against bullying. Join us now: <a href="http://t.co/UzmXsmClON">http://t.co/UzmXsmClON</a></p>— Tampa Bay Rays (@RaysBaseball) <a href="https://twitter.com/RaysBaseball/statuses/390841013776187392">October 17, 2013</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
The Rays are involved, and have taken to Facebook and Twitter to support this cause, which I think is awesome. Nonetheless, not everyone else shares my sentiments, as highlighted by Big League Stew of Yahoo! Sports...
Oh, and I guess the Red Sox won last night. Tazawa pitched in multiple frames for the first time this season and managed to get out of trouble, and Uehara closed the door over five outs.

- Jose Abreu is on the verge of signing a $68 million deal with the Chicago White Sox. The Rangers and Red Sox had also shown great interest in Abreu, who might be one of the best hitters in the game right now, so I'm glad he's landed elsewhere.
- Nolan Ryan is officially out in Texas. He announced his resignation during a press conference yesterday and his share in the ownership group has been completely bought out.
- FanGraphs has an updated look at the SCOUT leaderboard of the Arizona Fall League.
- The "Minimalist Ballpark" posters have been completed for each stadium, as showcased by Deadspin. You can order a print of Tropicana Field’s poster through this link. I’ve never seen any rays like that in the tank at the Trop though…
- The Red Sox head back home to Fenway and will host game six of the ALCS at 4:30 PM on Saturday. Max Scherzer and Clay Buchholz will take the mound for the Tigers and Red Sox, respectively. If Boston wins game six, they’ll be heading to the World Series.
- Here’s a look back at some of the more emotional moments of the 2013 season.
