Rays' prospect Taylor Guerrieri has been suspended 50 games for his second violation of the league drug policy, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
#Rays 2011 top pick RHP Taylor Guerrieri suspended 50 games for second violation "drug of abuse." Already out due to Tommy John surgery.

According to Topkin (who fills in more details here), Guerrieri's suspension is believed to be marijuana-related. Guerrieri, the Rays top draft choice in 2011, is a power pitcher who was in the middle of a fine minor league season before being shut down and sent for Tommy John surgery in July.
This suspension will not negatively impact Guerrieri's development. He'll be forced to miss time at the beginning of 2014 that he was already going to sit out while rehabbing his arm. Whether or not you care about his suspension really comes just down to whether or not you mind your top prospects smoking pot.
