Rays infield prospect Tim Beckham will likely miss much of the 2014 season after tearing the ACL is his right knee, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Beckham, who was called up toward the end of last season, had a chance to make the team out of spring training as a reserve infielder. Despite going into what will be his seventh year in the organization, Beckham will still only be 24 next year. He put up slightly above average offense in Durham with a 106 wRC+ in 2013. Baseball America had just ranked Beckham as the Rays eighth best prospect.
