The Rays Tank: Some things are bigger than baseball

On a horrific day in Boston, the Rays wrapped up a series against the Red Sox.

With yesterday's tragic events, it just doesn't seem quite appropriate to harp on the Rays lack of offense, wonder about the questionable calls that occurred, or attempt to pinpoint what solutions there may be.

Steve accurately summed up a majority of Rays fans current emotions in his full game recap from yesterday's 3-2 loss to the Red Sox:

There is frustration, there is pressure, there is mounting momentum to call up Wil Myers and Brandon Guyer from Triple-A Durham, and there is a renewed focus on firing Derek Shelton. These are just some of the negative side effects of a prolonged slumping Rays offense that has resulted in this years club matching the teams worst start in franchise history of 4-8.

Tonight the Rays begin a three game series against the Orioles in Baltimore, with the following pitching matchups expected:

Tuesday - Roberto Hernandez vs. Jake Arrieta

Wednesday - Matt Moore vs. Chris Tillman

Thursday - David Price vs. Miguel Gonzalez

There's a time to complain, and there's a time to see the bigger picture.

Our hearts and thoughts are with everyone affected by the awful events in Boston.
