Hey, the Rays are No. 4 in team wRC+ entering today. That means this offense is kind of legitimate so far. Yes, James Loney, Kelly Johnson, and even Evan Longoria and Sean Rodriguez are playing above their talent levels, but Jose Molina, Yunel Escobar, and just about every Rays player who throws pitches is playing well beneath their established floors.
All this to stay: Who names themselves after a priest class? Paladins I can understand; even wizards; but Padres?! There were better names available. Many better names. Shame on San Diego.
