Today's games, if they play, will wrap up Charlotte's first half.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (41-25)
Durham was off.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (34-31)
Montgomery was off.
Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (28-34)
Charlotte was rained out.
Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (35-29)
A seven run third inning gave Bowling Green an early lead and chance to front-run in an 11-6 win over Dayton. All seven runs scored before Dragons starter Sal Romano could record an out in the inning. Ryan Dunn reached on an error to start things, and then six straight Hot Rod hits put them up 7-1. The inning culminated with a three run homer by Justin O'Conner, making it three straight games with a home run by the former first rounder. Dayton would later add some more runs, but Bowling Green's own insurance runs kept them at arm's length. For the first time since May 15th, Blake Snell pitched through five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Bating first and second, Andrew Toles and Tyler Goeddel each reached base three times, as did Luke Maile. Patrick Leonard hit two doubles.
Star of the day- Leonard's current hot streak has gone a bit under the radar since his first couple months were so bad.
Goat of the day- Not today, but the Bowling Green bullpen probably could've pitched better.
