The GCL Rays survived a late GCL Red Sox rally to win 5-4 Tuesday. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Nathan Minnich doubled home a pair of runners in scoring position to pull the Red Sox within one. A Yael Regalado wild pitch moved a pinch runner 90 feet away from scoring the tying run, but he induced a groundout to end the game. Mario Fernandez started and allowed a pair of runs in three innings, but Andrew Gonzalez dominated in relief to earn the win. He struck out four in five scoreless innings, only allowing four hits and not walking anyone. The Rays only had six hits, but they supplemented it with nine walks, three by leadoff hitter Riley Unroe. Unroe reached base four times, and Nick Ciuffo drove in a pair of runs.
