Triple-A Durham Bulls (3-0)
The Durham Bulls swept the best-of-five series against Indianapolis with their 2-1 victory on Friday. The Bulls will now advance to the International League Championship. For the first eight innings, the Bulls' pitching dominated the Indians, holding them scoreless with few scoring opportunities. Merrill Kelly made the start for the Bulls, going 5.2 innings with seven hits allowed, one walk, and seven strikeouts. Adam Liberatore pitched the next 1.2 scoreless innings. Juan Sandoval was tasked with completing a two inning save, and though he allowed a run in the bottom of the ninth, he finished the series sweep. The Bulls scored their two runs in the top of the third inning. Kevin Kiermaier singled to lead off the inning. Tim Beckham reached base on an error, and a single and a groundout later, the Bulls had a 2-0 lead.
Advanced Class-A Charlotte Stone Crabs (0-1)
The second game of the series was postponed due to rain.
