Jake Odorizzi is a slender, sophomore righty. Joe Saunders is a husky, veteran left-hander. Their ethnicity and height is about all that's the same between these two pitchers. Odo is a fly ball pitcher. Saunders is a neutral, maybe groundball pitcher (of late).
The Fangraphs scoreboard projections have the pre-lineup Rays (meaning before the official lineup is released, so it's based on more general team-wide projections) give the Rays a 55% chance of winning tonight's game.
And after yesterday's happy offensive explosion, I think we're all gearing up for a veteran, soft-tossing lefty to pitch a perfecto. But let's think positive thoughts.
