Rays vs. Rangers GDT 1: Odorizzi vs. Saunders

The odds are in Odo's favor.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Jake Odorizzi is a slender, sophomore righty. Joe Saunders is a husky, veteran left-hander. Their ethnicity and height is about all that's the same between these two pitchers. Odo is a fly ball pitcher. Saunders is a neutral, maybe groundball pitcher (of late).

The Fangraphs scoreboard projections have the pre-lineup Rays (meaning before the official lineup is released, so it's based on more general team-wide projections) give the Rays a 55% chance of winning tonight's game.

And after yesterday's happy offensive explosion, I think we're all gearing up for a veteran, soft-tossing lefty to pitch a perfecto. But let's think positive thoughts.

Let's do a DRB scoreboard projection: Will the Rays win tonight?
