The Rays called up catcher Ali Solis from Triple-A Durham today and moved Matt Moore on the 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man roster.
Ryan Hanigan suffered a setback in yesterday's game, feeling his hamstring tighten up in the third or fourth inning (h/t Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times). Solis, 26, was signed as a minor league free agent in November. He's spent nine seasons in the minors, hitting a collective .242/.291/.366. He saw four plate appearances with the Padres in 2012, failing to reach base.
