Rays Tank: Derby Day

Get your juleps ready.

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The Rays emphatically entered the all-star break as David Price pitched eight scoreless innings and Jake McGee closed out the game to beat Toronto 3-0. The Rays currently sit 9.5 games behind the Baltimore Orioles, tied for last place in the division. Do you feel a run of .700 baseball coming? That would get the Rays to 90 wins. I believe.(?)

Tonight is the home run derby. Here are the odds from Bovada Sports (www.bovada.lv):

Giancarlo Stanton 2/1
Yoenis Cespedes 5/1
Jose Bautista 5/1
Yasiel Puig 6/1
Troy Tulowitzki 13/2
Josh Donaldson 10/1
Adam Jones 12/1
Brian Dozier 12/1
Todd Frazier 12/1
Justin Morneau 15/1

I'll admit, I do usually watch the derby. It's something of a guilty pleasure. Psyched about Stanton being in it.

MGL went on a podcast.

No Rays, but good stuff as always from David Laurila, including a description of a truly bad stadium.
