Rays prospects and minor leagues: Farewell Goeddel, Rickard and Tissenbaum

In case you missed it, Tyler Goeddel, Joey Rickard, and Maxx Tissenbaum were all selected in the Rule 5 draft. Goeddel is headed to the Phillies and Rickard is on his way to the Orioles. Both would have to be retained on the 25-man roster all season in order to be kept by the selecting team. Tissenbaum was selected in the Triple-A round by the Marlins, where such requirements do not apply.

LHP Adam Kolarek, who the Rays selected from Baltimore in the Triple-A round, is already on the Puerto Rican League's Gigantes de Carolina with Dayron Varona, Edrick Agosto and Jesus Ortiz.

RHPs Yoel Espinal of the Yankees and Fernando Baez of the Cardinals were also selected by the Rays in the Triple-A round, but they are not assigned to any Rays winter league team as of now.
