In related-to-Rays news, Allan Dykstra's brother James threw a no-hitter yesterday.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (3-4)
Everett Teaford allowed a two-run home run two batters into the game, and it did not get any better from there in Durham's 8-0 loss to Norfolk. Teaford exited after four innings, having allowed seven runs -- six earned -- on 10 hits and two walks with six strikeouts. One bright spot was the work of Bryce Stowell, who struck out three and walked one in 3 1/3 hitless innings of relief. All four Bulls hits were singles.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (1-5)
Montgomery could never get one more big hit in its 3-2 loss to Jacksonville. Justin O'Conner hit his second home run of the season in the fourth, and the Biscuits added an unearned run in the eighth. However, they were 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Jaime Schultz worked an inefficient four innings, allowing a run on three hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. Parker Markel took the loss with an unearned run, and Tommy Coyle hit a pair of doubles.
Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (4-2)
Charlotte was postponed.
Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (2-5)
Brent Honeywell was good, but he was outdueled in Bowling Green's 4-0 loss to Dayton. The two-out run the Dragons scored in the fourth proved to be enough, but they later tacked on a pair of unearned runs against Honeywell. He finished with three runs -- one earned -- allowed on two hits and three walks in six innings with nine strikeouts. Grant Kay had three of the Hot Rods' five hits.
