In the early going, we've seen the return of all-or-nothing Justin O'Conner at the plate. He has three home runs, but he has not taken a walk and has struck out 12 times.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (4-7)

Dylan Floro threw a complete game, but it was not enough in Durham's 3-2 loss to Norfolk. Holding a 2-0 lead entering the sixth, the Tides scored three runs, but two were unearned due to an error by Taylor Motter. Floro allowed three runs -- one earned -- on four hits and a walk in eight innings with three strikeouts. Joey Butler drove in both Bulls runs.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (4-6)

Drew Smyly took his rehab to the Southern League in Montgomery's 2-0 win over Jacksonville. He struck out four and only allowed a hit in 3 2/3 innings, but he walked three and only 40 of his 68 pitches were strikes. Bradin Hagens was solid in relief of the rehabbing big leaguer with three strikeouts in four scoreless frames. Justin O'Conner's third home run opened the scoring in the second inning, and Daniel Robertson singled home a run an inning later.

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (7-4)

A six-run eighth inning put Charlotte over the top in its 7-6 win over Palm Beach. Trailing 6-1, the Stone Crabs sent 10 batters to the plate. Jake Bauers' triple started the scoring with two runs, Marty Gantt and Armando Araiza drew bases-loaded walks, and Braxton Lee capped the inning with a two-run single. German Marquez struck out six and walked none in five innings, but he allowed four Cardinals runs on seven hits. The win was credited to Jeff Ames despite allowing two runs in two innings.

Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (4-6)

Bowling Green's game was suspended.
