Blake Snell is on some major helium in the early going, and Jaime Schultz is putting on quite a show too.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (8-8)
Durham was postponed.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (8-8)
After allowing a run in the first, Jaime Schultz settled in and dominated in Montgomery's 7-4 win over Jackson. Schultz hit the leadoff batter and allowed a run on two singles but went on to allow just that run on seven hits in six innings with nine strikeouts and no walks. The Generals were due after that, though, and scored three runs -- two earned -- against Colton Reavis. The Biscuits tied the game in the bottom of the first and opened up a lead with a four-run second, highlighted by Boog Powell's two-run single.
Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (12-5)
Blake Snell continued to dominate Florida State League hitters in Charlotte's 4-0 win over Palm Beach. Although he walked four more batters, he only allowed two hits and struck out six in six scoreless innings. Josh Kimborowicz and Justin McCalvin combined to finish the last three innings. All nine Stone Crabs had a hit each, and Mike Marjama drove in two wit a double.
Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (10-7)
Justin Williams and Jace Conrad homered in Bowling Green's rain-shortened 4-2 win over Lansing. Williams hit his first home run in his new organization in the second inning, and Jace Conrad's fourth inning solo home run added insurance. Chris Pike had to work out of some jams and finished with two runs allowed on nine hits and a walk in five innings.
