Baseball early, baseball often.

Finally Opening Day is here. At long last the actual season can begin after a long off-season, and Sun Sports is going to have nine hours of continuous coverage.

1:00 - Tampa Bay Rays preseason special

1:30 - Special 90-minute Rays LIVE! Pregame Show

The pregame show will have a Chinese Theater feel to it as Rays reporters will announce player arrivals and conduct interviews with players from the field and clubhouse. Several of the Rays top brass (Stuart Sternberg, Matthew Silverman, and Brian Auld) will also join the broadcast at some point.Later on, before the game they will also televise the Don Zimmer jersey retirement ceremony.

After the pregame ceremonies, the man who brought baseball to the Bay area, Vince Namoli will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Although while he was in charge there were numerous instances of he was unfit to be a baseball team owner, he should still be applauded because without him, it's possible that the region would not have received a team. It should also be known that last Fall he was diagnosed with 'Progressive Supranucler Palsy' which has caused his health to steadily decline. So when he takes the mound later today, he should treated with respect and admiration, despite all the tales of his time in charge.

3:00 - Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays

After all the pregame things are done, Chris Archer will deliver the first pitch at 3:10.

6:00 - Rays LIVE! Postgame Show

The postgame show will immediately follow the game and with the new 'pace of game' rules. Anyway, the postgame include player interviews, as well as an interview with Kevin Cash after his first major league game as a manger.

6:30 - "Inside the Rays: Unlikely Journey (2014)"

7:00 - "Inside the Rays: Cooking with Longoria"

7:30 - Don Zimmer: A Life in Baseball

8:00, 12:00 - Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays

For those who had to work during the game, at 8 PM there will be a replay of the game that's cut down to a two hour run time. Sun Sports will once again replay the game at midnight, concluding their coverage.
