Taylor Guerrieri's return may have been overshadowed by another pitcher from that draft on Monday.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (20-19)
Durham's offense was flat again in its 3-0 loss to Rochester. While Blake Snell is working on his scoreless streak, the Bulls have an impressive one of their own, now lasting 26 innings. A two-out double in the third gave the Red Wings the only run they needed, but Josmil Pinto's two-run home run later provided insurance. Matt Buschmann allowed all three runs in seven innings with six strikeouts, and Alexi Casilla and Jake Elmore each had two of Durham's six hits.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (17-21)
Blake Snell's unbelievable season continued in Montgomery's 4-2 win over Chattanooga. The Lookouts boast one of the minors' best lineups and lead the Southern League in runs, but Snell's scoreless streak continued to 46 innings. He walked three and only 60 of his 102 pitches were strikes, but he struck out six and limited Chattanooga to two hits in six innings. Patrick Leonard's solo home run in the second inning started the scoring, and Justin O'Conner's two-run double in the fourth was vital.
Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (25-13)
Taylor Guerrieri was finally back, but he was long gone before Charlotte lost to Jupiter, 1-0, in 11 innings. The former first-round pick sailed through three innings, striking out two and only allowing a hit in three scoreless innings with 23 of his 36 pitches going for strikes. Unfortunately, the Stone Crabs' bats never showed up. They outhit the Hammerheads by a 9-6 margin, but Kyle McKenzie allowed the only run of the game in the 11th. Buddy Borden followed up his no-hitter with three hits allowed in five innings with five strikeouts.
Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (22-16)
Bowling Green's offense also stunk in its 3-0 loss to West Michigan. The Hot Rods only accumulated five hits, two of which came off the bat of Nick Ciuffo. Starter Greg Harris allowed two runs -- one earned -- on six hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings, and the rest came off Hunter Wood in relief.
