Durham probably had the best day out of anyone. Later Tuesday, I'll check in on some of the hitting prospects so far.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (14-11)
Durham was off.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (12-13)
He did not get the win, but Victor Mateo came out on top in Montgomery's 3-2 loss to Mississippi. In his first start against his old organization, he allowed two runs in five innings but was out of the game when Mississippi pushed the winning run across. In the seventh, another former Ray, KD Kang, crossed the plate to break a 2-2 tie. Bradin Hagens took the loss after allowing three runs in seven innings. In the fifth, Daniel Robertson's second home run of the season tied the game at two.
Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (16-9)
Jacob Faria proved he is not invincible in Charlotte's 9-1 loss to Fort Myers. He allowed four runs -- three earned -- on six hits and two walks in four innings, and Isaac Gil was charged with five runs -- one earned. The Stone Crabs committed four errors, and they were down 6-0 before finally scoring their only run.
Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (15-10)
Someone finally solved the duo of Brent Honeywell and Hunter Wood in Bowling Green's 6-4 loss to Lake County. Honeywell was in trouble from the start when he hit the first batter, and the Hot Rods were down 1-0 two batters later on a double. With two outs, the Captains completed a three-run inning on a squeeze bunt. He would not allow any more runs, and a pair of two-run innings even saw him exit with a lead. Wood, though, could not hold that lead when he allowed three runs over two innings of work.
