I would expect Casey Gillaspie will be promoted after the Midwest League All-Star Game. I have no info here, but it seems like something that could happen.

A win for Charlotte Friday clinches a playoff berth.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (36-26)

Durham got a pair of two-run homers from catchers in its 6-3 win over Louisville. In the sixth, J.P. Arencibia's two-run shot broke a 1-1 tie, and Luke Maile added to the Bulls' lead with a two-run home run of his own a few batters later. After having allowed 13 runs combined in his last two starts, Everett Teaford yielded just one run on three hits and two walks in six innings for his first quality start since April.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (30-30)

Ryne Stanek could not find the strike zone, but he limited the damage in Montgomery's 6-1 win over Pensacola. He walked five and only 45 of his 83 pitches were strikes, but he only allowed one run in six innings when the Blue Wahoos went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left 11 on base. Johnny Field's two-run homer keyed a four-run fifth that put the Biscuits up 4-0, and Hector Guevara's first home run of the season added insurance later in the game.

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (40-20)

A rare poor start from Chris Kirsch cost Charlotte in its 4-3 loss to Dunedin. After allowing two runs with two outs in the first, Kirsch did settle down for a few innings, but he ran into trouble in the sixth when a leadoff double was followed by a two-run home run. He exited after 5 2/3 innings, having allowed four runs on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts. The Stone Crabs got all three of their runs in the fifth when Pat Blair and Armando Araiza hit back-to-back home runs and Marty Gantt later drew a bases-loaded walk.

Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (35-25)

Enderson Franco was sharp in Bowling Green's 8-0 win over Beloit. He struck out six and scattered four hits and no walks over six scoreless innings, and Mike Franco and Ryan Pennell finished the game. Justin Williams' solo home run in the second started the scoring for Bowling Green, and Casey Gillaspie capped a three-run fifth with his 13th home run.
