This Date in Team History!
In 1984, Scott Kazmir is born. Kazmir would serve as the team's ace from 2005 to 2007, exciting fans with his blazing fastball, sweeping slider, and wildness on the mound. In 2007, he led the league in strikeouts, and then in 2008 he enjoyed an all-star year and was named the AL Pitcher of the Month in May. Kazmir would be traded in 2009 and the Rays are still reaping benefits from that.

Trivia Time!
The answer to yesterday's question was Brandon Guyer, answered by Dbullsfan
Lone wrong answer was Kevin Kiermaier
The Rays’ 2006 minor league pitcher of the year. His lone plus pitch is a changeup. He mixes the changeup well with his upper-80s fastball and sneaky slurve, and few pitches in the minors throw more quality strikes. Managers rated his control the best in the Southern League last summer. Athletic and competitive, he is a durable workhorse who must continue to prove himself at every level.
Hint: he was never a top ten prospect in his organization
